Dynamic Density Meter Method
A dynamic density meter is a fast and efficient tool for assessing soil density. The device performs diagnostics by measuring soil compaction through impulse loading, allowing for rapid evaluation of the foundation condition.
The instrument is used to determine the bearing capacity of underlying soils, road subgrades, and load-bearing layers. Cutting Ring Method with Compensation
This is a classical method for determining soil density, based on cutting out a sample using a special cutting ring. By extracting and analyzing the sample in its natural state, the method provides accurate data on soil density.
Replacement Method for Determining Soil Density
The replacement method is a reliable way to determine soil density directly at the work site and is widely used in engineering geology. It is based on replacing the volume of excavated soil with a loose material of known density, typically calibrated sand. This method allows density measurements without disturbing the surrounding soil layers, making it indispensable for field investigations.
How does the replacement method work?
A small pit of a strictly defined volume is excavated at the test site. The removed soil is weighed, and its moisture content is determined in the laboratory. The pit volume is then filled with calibrated sand or water, the volume of which is measured with high accuracy. Based on these data, the soil density is calculated.
